Keyword Highlighter is a Chrome extension that highlights user-defined keywords on webpages to improve readability and productivity.
We value your privacy. This extension does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal or sensitive user data.
Data We Store
Keyword Highlighter stores the following only on the user's own device, using chrome.storage.sync so the user's keyword groups can sync across their Chrome profiles:
- Keyword groups and color settings
- Highlight toggle state
This information is never transmitted to external servers owned by us or third parties.
Data We Do NOT Collect
Keyword Highlighter does not collect or access:
- Browsing history
- Personal information
- Login credentials
- Form data
- Payment information
- Webpage content for logging or analytics
- IP address, device identifiers, or location
How the Extension Works
The extension reads page text on device only to highlight the keywords the user has defined.
No page content is sent to any server; all processing happens in the user's browser.

To apply or clear highlights on the current page only when the user enables the feature

To highlight keywords on websites the user visits

To save the user's keyword settings locally

Only when the user exports their keyword list as a JSON file
None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit personal data.

We do not share user data with any third parties.
Children's Privacy
This extension is safe for all ages and does not collect personal data from children.
